Cute, Cheap Craft for Kids’ Rooms!

This isn’t a new craft project of mine, but it is one of my fave’s..so I thought I’d share! It is pretty trendy right now to hang your child’s name in their room, so I thought I’d share how we did it. It’s a little different than just painting letters and hanging them, but you will still be painting letters and hanging them.

I used some $1 frames at the Dollar Tree and just removed the glass and backing, you’ll need only the wooden part. They have these in White or Black – you could paint them if you want another color.

  1. Hang frames where desired on the wall. Then use a pencil to trace the inner square of the frames.
  2. Remove the frames and paint within the pencil-ed squares. Wait for them to dry.
  3. Hang the frames once again and hang the letters centered within the frame.

Super simple! This project cost us just about $25 (mostly because of the long name)! The wooden letters are $1 each at Jo-Ann or Michael’s, Paint Tester $2.88 at Walmart, and Dollar Store Frames! The shorter the name the cheaper the cost!
