Register Rewards Deals
The goal for shopping at Walgreens is to purchase the Register Reward (RR) sales items, and then use those RR’s to purchase more RR sales items. Sounds confusing already, doesn’t it? The RR is a form of Catalina Coupon, a manufacturer’s coupon, that will print after the special items are purchased. You may then (on your next trip or immediately after in a separate transaction) use the RR to purchase another RR deal or anything else in the store (with a few exclusions). You may also use coupons along with the RR deals, but only 1 manufacturer’s coupon per item (RR counts as a manufacturer’s coupon), this is where fillers come in.
Ex:
Transaction #1 Skintimate Shave gel $3, receive $2 RR - .55 coupon = pay $2.45, then receive $2 RR Transaction #2 Nexcare Bandages $2.49, receive $2 RR .39 candy bar (filler) -.55 nexcare coupon coupon -$2 RR (from previous transaction) = $.33, receive $2 RRThe second transaction needed the filler so that we had 2 items so that we could pay with 2 coupons.
Another thing to remember is that if you want 2 Skintimate Shave gels that produce RRs you will need to purchase them in separate transactions. If you purchase them both in the same transaction, only 1 RR will print. Also, you will not be able to use the RR from the first Skintimate to purchase another skintimate. If you do the RR will not print.
Walgreens Store Coupons
Walgreens has a few different places to find their store coupons. They have in-ad coupons which are, obviously, found in the ad each week. They also put out a book at the beginning of each month full of store coupons called Instant Value Coupons (IVC). This book is found at the front of the store with the weekly ads, it is a long skinny booklet. Occasionally, there will also be other coupon booklets found within the store. All of these store coupons may be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons.
